Bricking Starts

After being disappointed yesterday that the bricking did not start and Western Power did not connect the dome - we even got an email from our long lost construction coordinator! It only said that bricking would start early this week so it was positive in that it reinforced bricking would start soon.
Well today they started and they looked busy. They are using a generator like I suggested. And in one day they have done this.

Big update

We were surprised to find that they have installed the power dome today. This is after telling me that they would not be able to bring forward the date so we were expecting Tuesday next week. Just need them to now connect the other end and energise the dome!

Small update

Informed the builder today that the dome was not installed on Friday and asked them what their plan is? Reminded the contracts administrator (don't know where our construction coordinator is) that they could use a generator to get the brickies going. The response; bricking will start on Monday using a generator until the power is put in.

Again, wait and see if this happens!

Update...well no update

Well the power did not go in on Friday. Nothing happened to day. So no update. Did go to the slab over the weekend and the kids swept the slab and I swept the footings ready for the bricking to go up. Kinda opptomistic wasn't it?

Called Power Alliance and they again said 8 August to get the dome installed and the 10 August to get it energised. So much for the builder saying last Friday!

Western Power Update

Western Power came around yesterday to do he site inspection. They also marked out the routing and location of the dome. Bad news is that Bec talked to them and they are only scheduling to do the actual install in 2-3 weeks!!!
But got the builder to call them today and our contracts administrator was able to talk them into MAYBE installing it on Friday (originally was 9th September) - I guess if we have good weather and they get through some of their other jobs, then maybe we will get ours installed Friday. Let's wait and see (and hoping like buggery)

Western Power Update

Bec met the Western Power representatives on site today. They were doing the site inspection to see how they would run the power cable to our new dome. They marked out which side of the pole they woud run it down and how they would run it to the new dome location. They also marked out where the dome would go. Luckily this location is not under the rubbish cage that the builder has installed.
Bad news is that they have estimated 3 weeks to actually put the dome in!!! Hmmm need to talk to builder on how they are going to get around this situation as a temporary pole would likely to also take 3 weeks to put in. So let's brainstorm the options
1. See if temporary overhead pole will be quicker than 3 weeks
2. Ask the neighbour if we can run an extension cable for 3 weeks
3. Use petrol powered cement mixers
4. Use generators to power their electric mixers
5. Wait 3 weeks for the dome to be installed (on second thoughts, not an option)
