Roof Timber Day 4

First sunny day this month and it happens to be the Friday before a long weekend! But the carpenters turned up again this morning so really happy with that. Another productive day. They have now finished the main frame of the roof and started to brace. The study is done and some of the rooms at the back. They have also layed out the fascia and hardiflex ready to put it up. Now we have to wait for the long weekend before anymore work is done.

Roof timber Day 3

Day 3 and another good solid days work from the timber carpenters. They have now completed most (if not all) of the horizontal ceiling joists now. They have started on the valleys and ridges. There is a lot of work going into the roof timbers.

Other news is that we had a meeting with the site supervisor this morning. We accepted the construction coordinators offer of a meet and greet. The site supervisor was very apprehensive but we didn't have any concerns - I think that made him happy. He did mention that the brickies and roof carpenters have been with him a while so they know each other. He also said that lockup should be in about 6 weeks which puts it at the end of October. He also said that the facia/gutters are scheduled for the 5th October. Roof tiles are due 9th October.

Roof Timber Day 2

The carpenters were back this morning with backup from a couple of mobile cranes. Not sure exactly why they needed two cranes but they lifted all the steel up and also some of the longer/bigger timber. Still a lot of timber on the ground!

Bricking Day 10 - Finished / Roof Timber Day 1

Very surprised this morning to see 8 cars parked out the front. In addition to our brickies cars, we also had the roof carpenters there this morning. So before the bricking had finished, the roof timbers were started!!! Hmmm But Bec said that they were only there for a couple of hours due to waiting for the brickies to finish. Bec talked to the brickies who said that they wanted to finish last week but were delayed due to the rain. We were just thankful that they turned up everyday to do some work rather than give the day a miss. So they finally finished the bricking today and cleaned up the inside of all scaffolds, bricks and rubbish. So now the inside looks almost like a house and with the roof timbers in the games room, it is really starting to look like a house now. Enjoy the pictures.

Bricking Day 9

Another crappy day (weather wise) but they turned up again. Looks like they went home early though as they were gone by 2:30pm. Maybe it is because the roof timber delivery truck turned up. The timbers take up a lot of space.
