Ceiling/cornices delivered

The house is really looking good today. Caught the truck which delivered the ceiling and cornices trying to get out of the soft sand in the front of the house. He only got slightly bogged but embarassing none the less! He did drop off 2.7t of ceilings and 0.35t of cornices! These are now sitting in the garage waiting for them to be installed next week.
We did get a surprise, and it was a nice surprise - our first appliance was installed today; the solar hot water system!!!!! The only downside is that someone (maybe the solar guys) cut the copper water pipe for the gas boost right back to the wall. :( Not sure if this is intentional but I am hoping so).

Render float - Finished

Ahhh what a difference the float does to the look of the house. They have now finished both inside and outside. Bec had a good conversation with the three tradies today. They mentioned that the brickies did a really good job and that the walls were square which made their life easier.

Not much more to say except LOVIN' it - especially the photo of the entrance and bedroom hallway.

Render float - Day 5

A bit of action on the site today. Drove past at 6:50am and the roof tilers were already on the roof pointing up the ridge tile mortar. It looks much better now which is a relief as I did not really like the rough look when they first applied the mortar bed. They did not take long and then the render guys rocked up. Our SS was also there this morning checking out the linen cupboard and doing his usual round. I know he looked at the linen cupboard as I received an email from our CC later in the morning to confirm that they will be rendering the linen cupboard to the full height. Yay a win for Beccy!
So the render guys almost finished today. They completed the library, entry, study and 2 of the walls in our bedroom. The only drawback was that they rendered over the box containing the data cables!

You can make out the conduit and the white box where they have rendered over the outlet
Pointing installed and looking very tidy now
Rubbish at the bottom of the downpipe due to the rain today
Linen/broom cupboard will be rendered to the top

Render float - Day 4

Another very productive day today. They have now finished off the roof tiles by mortoring the ridge caps in. So I guess we will get the next progress payment invoice for roof cover.
Inside the render blokes got a lot done today. All the rear living areas (games, meals, family and kitchen) are now done. They also did the home theatre so that is a lot of walls rendered today. So much so that they needed another lot of sand.
Our CC telephoned today to give us an answer to the two questions posed. The bathroom light will be changed to the low voltage downlight (on a separate switch) and also the SS will check about the linen/broom cupboard ceiling height. The render is only to 25c but we expect 31c.

Render float - Day 3

Another productive day even though we had a bit of rain. It seemed to rain lightly all day. The guys did the float in beds 2 and 3. Also the bedroom corridor has been done.
Also unusual was that they did the family room wall (opposite the linen cupboard) and also the rear wall for the fridge recess. They must have had some left over and did these small areas.

Bed 3
Family room TV wall
Fridge recess
