Revised Final Plans

After a friendly reminder call to the contracts administrator yesterday morning, she was probably in a pre-start meeting so left a message. Didn't hear anything back from her after lunch so thought that was it for this week but got a call at 3pm from her! After discussing another couple of clarifications, she said that the plans should be ready that afternoon and that she would call again to let me know that they are ready. Well I drove there at 430pm after not getting a call and would take my chances. Just before getting there I get a call to say that she would leave them in the mailbox as the office closes at 5pm. Needless to say, she was surprised when I rocked up a couple of minutes after hanging up. Enough of the waffling, finals plans and addenda will be signed and returned on Monday.

Oh forgot to mention that in the correspondance with Solahart, our contracts administrator mentioned that construction would start in 3 weeks (from the 21 July).....so that makes it the week of the 10 August.

Bank Documents Signed

Signed, sealed and ... in the post. So we officially have finance. One less hurdle to ovecome.

Now to hassle the contracts administrator to get our **revised** final plans and addenda. Spoke to her today and she agrees with my list of corrections. BUT she is still waiting for the electrician to come back on the data cabling! What is so hard about 4 runs of data cable!!! arrghhh
She also tried to argue the specificaitons for the crossover width. We want it right to the right boundary - which means the driveway is 6m wide. She tried to say that some councils (hmmm let's be specific hey) only allow 5.5m wide driveways. So I reassured her that our council allows 6m wide driveways. That will be changed! Looks like she will slug us for the extra paving....

Bank Documents

Well done to the bank for coming through with our loan documents. They have come through quicker than I expected. The only compliant is the quadruplicate copies that we were sent - half of which we need to sign and return!

Now if only we can get the correct final documentation from the builder then we are out the gate and down the construction path.

Final Plans

So now that the block is ready, just waiting for the revised final plans. Saw our contracts administrator on Friday and she admitted the...differences. She will have to go through the entire email (24 points) and revise the plans. She also mentioned that the front brick fence was not included in the original council plan submission (we added the fence at pre-start) so they wil start the house and submit the fence approval later. I think they will submit once the final plans are signed off.

Fingers crossed that they revise the plans on Monday.
