Well today was the last day of work officially for the builder. The painters were back to give the doors a final coat. It looks like they have also given some rooms another coat but hard to tell. They have given the front render another coat and it looks fabulous! Now we can really see how the front of the house will look as they have removed the protective film from the front door glass. Now we are just waiting for the plumber to do his thing....I wonder if he will work over the break? I wonder if there will be ANY work over the next two weeks!

Tiling complete
Tiling almost complete today. The laundry is now complete with grout. So is the powder room. So is the bathroom. The ensuite and toilet is complete except for the grouting. The kitchen sill is almost done except for one tile at the appliance cupboard end - they will probably wait until the cupboard is installed before installing the last tile. The cupboard can't go on until the bench is on. The tiler's son said the bench is likely to be installed on Friday.
So hopefully by Christmas we will have everything done except the final plumbing, final electrical, roller door, soakwell plumbing, grate and sump to front of garage, paving, final painting. Oh and the downpipes by the foyer.

Floor heating broken!
The floor heating in the ensuite was broken! :( Not sure if it was the plumber or tiler. It looks like the drain pipe was not long enough so they had to replace it with a longer piece which meant that they had to dig into the slab! arghhhhhhhh
We noticed it on Friday afternoon. We thought that this would delay them because the repair would need to be done by the heating company but alas it was repaired by Monday morning. Tuesday the screeding was done and the tiles replaced!
They can move to fix the problem. I wonder if they will tell us or hope that they fixed it before we noticed it!

Long time between updates
It has been a while but life has been hectic after coming back from China. The builder is still working and hoefully some work will be done over the shutdown period. However a lot has happened in the last week. Mostly it has been tiling but the plumber looks like he has come also. The painter has been and gone.
Tiling: ensuite is finished (except grout), ensuite toilet walls to be done, bathroom is finished (grouting done on walls), laundry is done, powder is done, kitchen is started - well the one row of tiles along the window!.
Painter: vents on roof painted, eaves done, downpipes done, ceilings done, walls sealed and first coat applied. We are getting him to paint the internal as well for a handsome cash sum.
Plumber: cut the cupboards in preperation for the sink drains. Gas plumber has installed the gas point in the alfresco.
Cabinet maker: reinstalled cupboard next to rangehood - he even replaced the back so that there is no hole from the old water tap point.
Benchtops: bathroom and ensuite benchtops are installed. Waiting for the kitchen Corian (which we signed off as variation 9).
