Roof tiling done. Well all the tiles have been put onto the roof and laid. Just need to tidy up and install the grout ("pointing" is the term I think)

Roof tiling started!

Well the sparky finished today. Must have been a pain for him putting all those switches and light points in. He has done a really neat and tidy job so we are happy that he took his time to do this job. All the external lights and power points are now run and also the phone cable. The phone cable has been run to the corner of the house however the phone trench ends in the porch!! I assume they will run a new trench to the corner of the house.

The roof tilers turned up sometime mid morning as they would not have worked with the electrician still inside. Anyway they got a lot more done that expected. I guess having six guys makes the job move quicker. Also first time I have seen hard hats worn on a domestic house construction site!

Electrical Day 6 and Plumbing Day 5

Yes, we are up to a week for both trades. They are really working hard but I think we added too many lights and switches and power points and data points and TV points. :)
The plumber has now finished and left the house water connected and turned on. I think this is to check that there is no leaks in the connections. The gas is also now finished. Bec does not like the grey mortar used by the plumber on the alfresco point but I think this will be covered up by the bayonet fitting.
The electrical is likely to be finished tomorrow. All the lights have been run and all the connections have been tidied up and put into boxes. Most of the power points have been done. He has run the telephone line from the study to the main bed corner however the conduit has been run to the garage corner (where the load centre is located).

Electrical getting there...
Stove hob and fridge recess
Plumber has mortared all the plumbing
Outside tap
Gas bayonet in alfresco - note the grey mortor used by the plumber
Hot water piping
Water connected and left on!

More electrical and plumbing

More work by the plumber and electrician today. The plumber seems to have finished now. He also installed the copper gas pipes. Looks like a 25mm incoming so per the specifications (19mm minimum). The sparky still have quite a lot to do though. Even though a lot of the light switches were added today, it looks like he still has a couple more solid days to go. Didn't notice any of the holes drilled for the external lights yet. Photos to come tomorrow.
